Decisions Decisions

I'm curious to hear the advice of my fellow bloggers. I was recently accepted to a doctoral program, and several masters programs. Now the doctoral program is six years long, but I will be graduating with a masters and a doctoral degree. The masters is two years long, but obviously not as prestigious. I will obviously be attending the doctoral program, but I am simply curious to hear the opinions of my community, and maybe some relative stories. Any comments?

  1. I think you're doing the right thing by attending the doctoral program. The four extra years will be worth it in the end.

  2. I think you should take it as far as you can! I believe you have the brilliance to be able to have "Dr." as part of your name.

  3. That's a tough decision... but I would have to go with the Doctoral program personally!

  4. Doctoral program. Those 4 years "Dr." will give you a lot, really a lot of advantage in life. Just imagine the people you'll meet in those 6 years, they are in a totally different level then the ones you'll meet with masters alone

  5. if you're really passionate about it then it's not so bad right? make sure you're going with something you really want to do.

  7. depends on what you're going for I guess. In some fields a masters isn't all that helpful so you might as well do the doctorate.
